Email Abuse Reporting
Report Spam
If you have received unsolicited, fraudulent, or abusive emails that appear to have been sent through MaileniumAI, we want to know about it. Reporting spam helps us maintain a clean email ecosystem, protect users, and take action against abusive senders.
We take all spam reports seriously and investigate each case thoroughly. Your report helps us identify and prevent abuse of our platform.
What Constitutes Spam?
Spam refers to unsolicited bulk emails that violate anti-spam laws and best practices. The following types of emails are considered spam and should be reported:
- Unsolicited Commercial Emails: Emails sent to recipients who did not consent to receive them, including promotional messages, advertisements, or marketing content sent without permission.
- Phishing Attempts: Emails designed to trick recipients into revealing sensitive information (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.) by impersonating legitimate organizations.
- Malware or Virus Distribution: Emails containing malicious attachments, links to infected websites, or other harmful content.
- Fraud or Scams: Emails attempting to defraud recipients through fake offers, lottery scams, advance fee fraud, or other deceptive practices.
- Harassment or Abuse: Emails containing threatening, abusive, or harassing content.
- Violation of Unsubscribe Requests: Emails sent after a recipient has requested to be removed from a mailing list, or emails that do not include a working unsubscribe mechanism.
- Misleading Headers or Subject Lines: Emails with deceptive "From" addresses, subject lines, or content designed to mislead recipients.
How to Report Spam
1. Use Our Reporting Form. Complete the form on the right with details about the spam email you received. Please provide as much information as possible to help us investigate effectively.
2. Include Email Headers (Recommended). Email headers contain important technical information that helps us trace the source of spam emails. To find email headers:
- Gmail: Open the email, click the three dots menu, and select "Show original"
- Outlook: Right-click the email, select "View Source" or "View Message Source"
- Apple Mail: Select the email, go to View → Message → Raw Source
- Other Clients: Look for options like "View Source", "Show Original", "Message Source", or "Internet Headers"
3. Forward the Email. As an alternative to using the form, you can forward the spam email to abuse@mailenium.ai. Please include "SPAM REPORT" in the subject line and any additional context in the body of your email.
4. Report Through Your Email Client. Most email clients have a "Report Spam" or "Mark as Spam" button. While this helps train spam filters, reporting directly to us ensures we can take action against abusive senders on our platform.
What Happens After You Report?
When you submit a spam report, we take the following actions:
Investigation
Our abuse team reviews your report and investigates the sender's account and email practices.
Action
If abuse is confirmed, we take appropriate action, which may include warnings, account suspension, or termination.
Follow-Up
We may contact you for additional information if needed, and we'll take steps to prevent future spam from the reported sender.
Protection
We work to protect all users by maintaining strict anti-spam policies and enforcing them consistently.
Response Time: We typically review spam reports within 24-48 hours. For urgent cases involving phishing, malware, or fraud, we prioritize investigation and may respond more quickly.
Confidentiality: Your report and personal information are kept confidential. We do not share your contact information with the reported sender, except as required by law.
Important Information
Legitimate Emails vs. Spam. Not all emails you receive are spam. If you previously subscribed to a mailing list or provided your email address to a business, emails from that sender are generally considered legitimate, even if you no longer wish to receive them. In such cases, use the unsubscribe link in the email rather than reporting it as spam.
False Reports. Submitting false or malicious spam reports is a violation of our Terms of Service and may result in action against your account. Please only report emails that genuinely constitute spam or abuse.
Legal Compliance. We comply with anti-spam laws, including the CAN-SPAM Act (United States), CASL (Canada), GDPR (European Union), and other applicable regulations. Reporting spam helps us maintain compliance and protect users.
Third-Party Senders. If the spam email was not sent through MaileniumAI, we may not be able to take direct action. However, we still encourage you to report it, as we may be able to provide guidance or refer you to the appropriate authority.
